Mimi graduated from Westminster College with a degree in business. After college, she married, worked, had a daughter, and dabbled only slightly in my art.
Nine years ago she was given a Christmas gift of eight weeks of art lessons with Maria Leysens in Mars. Maria's favorite medium was watercolor and Mimi loved it! Mimi stayed with her for five years until she moved out of state. She was an incredible teacher and taught Mimi and her family so many different approaches to watercolor.
Since then, Mimi has also tried her hand at painting whimsical furniture, fabric, and wine glasses. Lots of fun!
On a personal note, Mimi and her husband live in the woods near Portersville and enjoy the quiet beauty. Her daughter, husband, and three grandkids live in South Hills and she is very lucky to see them often. My two granddaughters are into their art as well, so it’s been a great tie that binds.
